Funen, Odense and the Danish islands are a gentler and more romantic part of Denmark, with small towns, castles, gardens, bridges, harbours and a very pleasant pace.
Trips and nature
The landscape is low and green, with coastlines, farmland, orchards, small islands and cycling routes. It is one of the easiest regions for relaxed touring.
Food and atmosphere
Odense is linked to Hans Christian Andersen, while Egeskov and other castles add aristocratic history. The islands bring maritime culture, village life and small harbours.
Transport and stay
Odense is well connected by train between Copenhagen and Jutland. A car or bike is useful for castles, smaller islands and coastal villages.
