General information
Copenhagen, Zealand and the Øresund Region are the natural starting point for Denmark. Copenhagen is compact, stylish, bike-friendly and full of design, cafés, museums, canals and neighbourhood life.
Trips and nature
The region is low, coastal and easy to explore. Zealand adds beaches, beech forests, small harbours and short seaside trips, while the Øresund connects Denmark with southern Sweden.
Food and atmosphere
Copenhagen combines royal history, modern architecture, design, food culture and harbour life. Roskilde adds Viking and cathedral heritage, Helsingør the castle of Hamlet. Food ranges from smørrebrød and pastries to Nordic restaurants and street food.
Transport and stay
Copenhagen has the main airport, metro, trains, buses and excellent cycling infrastructure. A car is not needed in the city, but helps for castles, beaches and rural Zealand.
