Méribel Bike Park

Méribel has a different rhythm on a bike than it does on winter skis, but it still feels like a major mountain resort. The bike park is built around lifts above the valley, routes around Méribel-Mottaret and links into the wider Three Valleys area. That means the day is not limited to a few isolated descents: it can combine shaped bike park lines, forest sections, open slopes and longer transfers between resort sectors.

The main strength is being able to build the day around ability. Less confident riders can start on smoother trails and work on braking, line choice and corners, while experienced riders will find steeper sections, roots and changing alpine surfaces. Méribel also works for groups where some people ride all day and others prefer walking, lakes, restaurants or lift-accessed viewpoints without a bike.

Planning matters here because resort distances can be deceptive. Before the first lift, check which lifts carry bikes, which trails are open and where you want to finish. After rain, forest sections change faster than wide flow trails, and higher up the weather can turn during the afternoon. Protection and good brakes are not just formalities, especially if you want more than one relaxed line.

Méribel is best for riders who want to combine an alpine bike park with the comfort of a large resort. It has enough infrastructure to keep logistics simple, but the riding still feels genuinely mountainous. For one day, choose a compact loop based on lift operation; for a longer stay, explore different sectors gradually and leave time to recover between long descents.
