Les Arcs Bike Park

Les Arcs is one of those French resorts where summer biking feels like a full reason to visit, not a side note to winter. The bike park uses the vertical gap between Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the valley and the mountain villages of Arc 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000. That gives the day a natural rhythm: ride up by lift or funicular, repeat descents, move between villages and keep the Savoie Alps in view.

The official offer is built around marked MTB routes and selected summer lift operation. Riders can find smoother flow sections, technical forest passages and longer descents that quickly build vertical metres. Less confident riders should start on easier lines around the lower stations, while stronger groups can combine several sectors and keep the day varied.

Logistics are a major advantage. Bourg-Saint-Maurice has a railway station in the valley and the resort is used to visitors without a car, which is practical in a large alpine bike area. Sort the bike, protection and service early in the day, because the villages are spread across the slope and later transfers take time.

Weather and fatigue deserve the most respect. Long alpine descents look inviting on a map, but arms and brakes work far harder than on a short local trail. After rain, forest sections and stones change quickly, and wind can affect the higher lifts. Check the official trail status before leaving and plan the day with margin.
