Kläppen is a different option from the big Nordic downhill arenas: less race-focused, more family-minded and easy to read for a first mountain-bike day in the Swedish mountains. Summer cycling gathers around Klappenberget, where Junior Bikepark, gentler mountain loops and the scenic Trollsterleden can be combined.

It makes most sense for families, beginners and mixed groups that do not want every hour to revolve around technical riding. Children have space in Junior Bikepark, stronger riders can add cross-country routes, and anyone who wants a view without a long climb can use Gondol Salen for mountain access.

The atmosphere is typically Swedish: practical facilities, space, forest and lakes nearby, and little pressure to perform. If you want a hard gravity park with large jumps, Kläppen is not the first pick; if you want a friendly introduction to riding in Sälen, it works very well.

Before travelling, check gondola operation, current activity dates and rental reservations. The summer programme varies by date and weather, which also makes Kläppen easy to combine with hiking, swimming or a calmer family stay.
