General information
South Bohemia is one of Czechia’s most relaxed travel regions, with historic towns, fishponds, forests, castles, rivers and a slower countryside rhythm.
Trips and nature
The region is known for ponds, forests, meadows, river valleys and gentle cycling routes. Třeboňsko is especially good for flat rides, birdlife and quiet water landscapes.
Food and atmosphere
Český Krumlov is the star, but Tábor, Třeboň, Jindřichův Hradec and many castles give the region deep historical texture. Beer, carp and rustic cooking are part of the experience.
Transport and stay
Larger towns are reachable by train or bus, but a car or bike helps for ponds, castles, villages and countryside routes.
