General information
The Julian Alps are Slovenia’s most iconic mountain region, combining Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, Triglav National Park, alpine villages, hiking, waterfalls and winter sports.
Trips and nature
This is Slovenia’s high-alpine core: peaks, lakes, rivers, forests, waterfalls and valleys. Bohinj is quieter and more nature-focused than Bled.
Food and atmosphere
Bled brings postcard scenery and tourism history, while alpine villages preserve mountain traditions, local food and links to Triglav identity.
Transport and stay
Bled and Bohinj are reachable by bus and train connections, but a car helps for valleys, trailheads and multi-stop mountain routes.
