General information
Vaduz, Schaan and the Rhine Valley are the most accessible and urban part of Liechtenstein. Vaduz is a small capital with museums, vineyards, a compact centre and views of the princely castle.
Trips and nature
The Rhine Valley is open and milder than the mountain part of the country. It is good for cycling, walking and short trips between villages, with mountain slopes rising quickly above the valley.
Food and atmosphere
Vaduz offers the Kunstmuseum, national museum, cathedral, government district and views of the castle, which is not normally open inside. Balzers and Gutenberg Castle add a more photogenic historical layer.
Transport and stay
Liechtenstein has no international airport. Most visitors arrive from Switzerland or Austria, using nearby railway stations and connecting buses. The area works well for a day trip or short stop.
