General information

Gozo is smaller, quieter and more rural than the main island of Malta. It suits slow travel, walking, diving, village stays and coastal views.

Trips and nature

The island feels greener and more open, with cliffs, rocky coves, Ramla Bay and good diving sites around Dwejra. Spring is excellent for walking.

Food and atmosphere

Ġgantija is one of the oldest temple complexes in the world, while Victoria and its Citadel form the island’s centre. Food is rural and local: ġbejna cheese, rabbit, ftira, fish and wine.

Transport and stay

Gozo is reached by ferry from Malta. Buses exist, but a car, scooter or bike gives much more freedom.
