General information
Corsica is France’s wild Mediterranean island, combining beaches, mountains, cliff towns, forests, villages, strong local identity and some of the best coastal drives in Europe.
Trips and nature
The island is rugged and varied, with granite mountains, turquoise coves, forests, high trails, maquis scrub and dramatic cliffs around Bonifacio and the west coast.
Food and atmosphere
Ajaccio, Bastia, Corte, Bonifacio, Genoese towers, Corsican language, music and mountain villages give the island a very distinct identity.
Transport and stay
Ferries and flights connect Corsica with mainland France and Italy. A car is very useful, but mountain and coastal roads can be slow and twisty.
