General information
Aragon and the Spanish Pyrenees are a rugged and often underrated region, combining Zaragoza, high mountains, Romanesque villages, canyons, monasteries and some of Spain’s best inland landscapes.
Trips and nature
The Pyrenees are the natural star, with high valleys, peaks, waterfalls, forests and national parks such as Ordesa. Southern Aragon becomes drier and more canyon-like.
Food and atmosphere
Zaragoza, medieval hill towns, monasteries and Romanesque churches give Aragon a strong historical identity between Catalonia, Navarre and Castile.
Transport and stay
Zaragoza is well connected by train. A car is very useful for Pyrenean valleys, villages, hiking areas and remote monasteries.
