General information
The Canary Islands are Spain’s subtropical Atlantic archipelago, offering year-round warmth, volcanic landscapes, beaches, hiking, dunes, resorts and very different island personalities.
Trips and nature
The islands range from Teide’s volcanic highlands and La Palma’s green ridges to Lanzarote’s lava fields, Fuerteventura’s dunes and dramatic Atlantic cliffs.
Food and atmosphere
Canarian culture mixes Spanish, Atlantic, Latin American and indigenous Guanche layers. Old towns, local food, music and island festivals add depth beyond resorts.
Transport and stay
Flights are frequent from mainland Spain and Europe, and inter-island ferries and flights are common. A car is useful on most islands for viewpoints and natural areas.
