General information

Košice, Prešov and Eastern Slovakia are a culturally rich and less touristy part of the country, with old towns, churches, castles, hills and strong multicultural layers.

Trips and nature

The region combines hills, forests, river valleys and access to several mountain and karst areas. It is less polished than the Tatras but full of variety.

Food and atmosphere

Košice has one of Slovakia’s finest urban centres, while Prešov, wooden churches, castles and borderland communities add Ruthenian, Hungarian, Slovak and Jewish layers.

Košice has an airport and rail links. A car helps for villages, castles, wooden churches and countryside routes.
