General information

Flanders is Belgium’s most densely packed cultural travel region, where major historic cities sit close together and are easy to combine by train.

Trips and nature

The region is mostly low and urban-rural, with canals, rivers, fields and coastal access not far away. The appeal is more cultural than wild.

Food and atmosphere

Antwerp brings fashion, diamonds and port energy, Ghent a lively medieval centre, and Bruges postcard canals and Gothic charm. Flemish art and beer are key themes.

Transport and stay

Flanders is excellent by train. A car is unnecessary for the main cities and often less convenient than rail.
