General information
Istria is one of Croatia’s most accessible and varied regions, combining Venetian coastal towns, Roman heritage, hill villages, beaches, food, wine and a strong Italian-Croatian atmosphere.
Trips and nature
The peninsula mixes rocky coves, clear sea, vineyards, olive groves, forests and inland hills. Cape Kamenjak and the west coast are popular natural highlights.
Food and atmosphere
Pula’s Roman amphitheatre, Rovinj’s Venetian old town, hill towns such as Motovun and Grožnjan, truffles and Malvazija wine shape Istria’s identity.
Transport and stay
A car is very useful for hill towns, wineries, beaches and inland villages. Coastal towns are busier in summer, especially Rovinj and Poreč.
