Troodos and mountain Cyprus show a completely different island: forests, villages, monasteries, frescoed churches, wine and cooler summer air.
Trips and nature
The mountains are the greenest and coolest part of Cyprus, with pine forests, waterfalls, viewpoints and even occasional winter snow.
Food and atmosphere
The painted Byzantine churches and Kykkos Monastery are key cultural highlights. Villages such as Omodos and Kakopetria show traditional architecture and local food.
Transport and stay
Troodos is best reached by car from Limassol, Nicosia or Paphos. Roads are winding, and winter conditions should be checked.
